WW2 USAF Bomber Crew Escape Axe
Original WW2 USAF Bomber Crew Escape Axe complete with a leather case, as the name suggests these were used by aircrew to breakout of damaged aircraft. The axe has a heavy-duty rubber handle with a large curved blade with a spike designed to cut through electrical cables.
Measuring 393.7mm long, with a 190.5mm long head, this style of axe was used by American and British Bomber crews throughout WW2 and thereafter. The axe head is marked with unknown makers mark 5 and comes complete with a nice leather case in good condition.
