Description
Luftwaffe Pilot’s Badge In Cloth
The German WW2 Luftwaffe pilot’s badge in cloth was introduced on January 19, 1935, for the DLV members who achieved their pilot’s license. It became official for the Luftwaffe on March 26, 1936, by Hermann Göring’s order.
The badge was awarded to personnel who completed flight training and obtained a military pilot’s license. Initially, cloth versions were only for Officers until November 18, 1937, when EM/NCOs were also authorized. Production of cloth badges ended on May 8, 1942, but they continued to be worn during the war.
