The Afrika Korps Deutsches Afrikakorps (DAK) was the German expeditionary force in Africa during the World War 2. Formed in 1941 to assist the Italians to defend Libya against British Commonwealth Desert Force in operation Compass, which was commanded by Field Marshal Erwin Rommel.
After the defeat of the Afrika Korp in El Alamein known as Operation Torch by the Allies the German reinforced their presence XC Army Korp and 5th Panzer Army. The Africa Korp and Axis forces finally surrendered in North Africa on the 13th May 1943.

Luftwaffe Afrika Korp Pith Helmet
A worn Luftwaffe Afrika Korp pith helmet, body constructed in cork covered in cloth with tan leather trim with zinc Luftwaffe cap insignia on the left side, and tri-colour decal shield on the other. The pith helmet leather headband is intact, complete with red lining in cloth which is sunbleached. The inside brim of the helmet includes the recipient's name "Ernst Schindler" and various battles in Sicily including "Augusta, Comiso, Etna 1942, Catania, Palermo". The helmet is in worn condition, interesting piece for any collection.

Panzer Grenadier blitz tropical signals trade badge, oval-shaped, machine embroidered signal-blitz in grass green, on drab green linen base, with reinforced -border roughly measuring 55mm (h) x 43mm (w) in mint condition. The patch was worn by EM/NCOs who served within the Panzer-Grenadier-Truppen, who served with Afrika Korp, worn on the upper left sleeve.

WW2 Heer Afrika Korp Cuff Title
A original WW2 Heer Afrika Korp cuff title (Deutsches Afrikakorps Ärmelabzeichen) machine embroidered constructed in camel hair khaki-colored with the inscription "AFRIKA" in silver thread flanked by a palm tree measuring 470mm in length and 35mm wide. The cuff title has no moth holes or damage in very good condition.
