An original British WW2 Italy Star campaign medal, constructed in brass die-struck. The medal depicts a six point star with ‘GRI’ with ‘VI’ in the centre, which is the monogram for ‘King George VI’ surrounded by concentric circles with the inscription ‘The Italy Star’ surmounted by Kings Crown, complete with original ribbon. The medal has no damage or repairs in good condition.

The Italy Star campaign is a military campaign medal, instituted in 1945 for British Commonwealth forces who served in the Italian Campaign from 1943 – 1945. In addition the medal was awarded to recipants who served in Sicily, Greece, Yugoslavia, the Aegean area, and Dodecanese islands, Corsica, Sardinia, and Elba between 11.6.1943 – 8.5.1945.
An original Royal Navy WW1 court mounted medal set awarded to SVPO Oswald Gurowich. The set comprises a 1914-15 Star, impressed with the name M.3878 O. GUROWICH, S.S.A. R.N.; British War and Victory Medals (1914-18), impressed with the name .M3878. O. GUROWICH, V.P.O. R.N.; and the Royal Navy Long Service and Good Conduct Medal (G.V.), impressed with the name M.3878 O. GUROWICH, S.C.P.O. H.M.S. LOWESTOFT. These medals court mounted are accompanied by copies of service records, medal rolls, and the 1911 census. Chief Petty Officer Oswald Gurowich, born on 13/8/1892 in Devonport, Devon, pursued a career as a clerk before enlisting in the Royal Navy as a Ships Steward Assistant.

The edge of the medal is stamped 7860 PTE J. King. RL. Fus., which comes complete with the original ribbon in good condition.
