German Mother’s Cross Gold By C. F. Zimmerman

Original Mother’s Cross Gold By C. F. Zimmerman (Ehrenkreuz der Deutschen Mutter Gold) two-piece construction n bronze gilt and enamel complete with full-length neck ribbon.  The reverse has a simulated hand inscription script dated “16 December 1938”, and Adolf Hilter Signature.  The award comes complete with the original case, covered in blue leatherette with slight scuff marks on the outer case.   The interior is lined with white rayon complete with the maker’s mark inside the lid “C. F. Zimmerman, Pforzheim”, measuring 48 mm (w) x 110 mm (l) x 20 mm (h), complete with original ribbon unissued still in its original wrapper.  The medal has no damage or repairs in mint condition.

GERMAN MOTHER’S CROSS

The German Mother’s Cross Ehrenkreuz der Deutschen Mutter In Gold.  The Mother’s Cross was instituted by Adolf Hitler on December 16TH 1938 as part of the propaganda campaign aimed at increasing the birth rate.

The award came in three grades to recognise and reward German mothers.  The bronze cross for 4 – 5 children, the silver for 6 – 7, and the gold for 8 or more children.

The criteria of the German Mother’s Cross criteria were awarded to parents with pure German descent who were worthy of the award.
