Glasgow Highlanders 5th VB H.L.I Victorian Cap Badge

An original Glasgow Highlanders 5th Volunteer Battalion Higland Light Infantry Victorian cap badge, die struck in white metal. The obverse of the cap badge consists of the star of the order of the thistle with St Andrew and his cross in the centre, with the motto “Nemo Me Impune Lacessit” (None May Touch Me With Impunity), surmounted by a Victorian crown with Spinx below. The scroll above has the following inscription ‘Glasgow Highlander’ and the scroll below is inscribbed ‘5th BV H.L.I.). The reverse of the badge has both prongs intact, with no damage or repairs.
