NSKK leaders’ Dagger by Eickhorn

An original NSKK leaders’ dagger by Eickhorn, double-edged blade with nickel fittings. The blade is acid etched with the SA motto “Alles für Deutschland” (Everything For Germany) and the reverse side of the ricasso has the makers “RZM M7/66” for Carl Eickhorn, Solingen. The blade is full length with beautiful crossgrain. The wooden grip handle is in beautiful condition complete with nice round enamel SA insignia, and crisp German Eagle mounted with no chips or cracks. The plated upper and lower crossguards remain bright, and the scabbard has a beautiful black glossy factory finish, with no chips or scratches. The nickel-silver plated chain features the NSKK eagles on the obverse and sun wheel swastikas and Nordic triangular “Thurs” rune (symbolising the power of the God Thor). The reverse of the chain is stamped “NSKK Korpsfuhrung Musterschutz” and “A RZM M5/8” (F. W. Assmann & Söhne, Lüdenscheid). It seems that the spring is absent from the spring clip. Overall the condition of the NSKK leaders’ dagger is exceptional, and would be a perfect addition to any collection and would be hard to upgrade.

The NSKK BRIEF HISTORY

The National Socialist Motor Corps (German: Nationalsozialistisches Kraftfahrkorps, NSKK) was a paramilitary organization of the Nazi Party (NSDAP) that officially existed from May 1931 to 1945. The group was a successor organisation to the older National Socialist Automobile Corps (German: Nationalsozialistisches Automobilkorps, NSAK), which had existed since April 1930.

The NSKK served as a training organization, mainly instructing members in the operation and maintenance of high-performance motorcycles and automobiles. The NSKK was further used to transport NSDAP and SA members, and also served as a roadside assistance group in the mid-1930s. The outbreak of World War II in Europe led to recruitment among NSKK ranks to serve in the transport corps of various German military branches.  A French section of the NSKK was also organised after the German occupation of France began in 1940. The NSKK was the smallest of the Nazi Party organizations.
