A WW2 Royal Air Force Bomb Disposal trade badge embroidered in light blue thread on blue wollen backing. The badge depicts a descending bomb flanked by the letters ‘BD’, surrounded by a laurel wreath. The badge has no moth hole or damage in very good condition.

RAF Bomb Disposal Trade Badge

The Bomb Disposal trade badge was authorised in January 1941. It was awarded to armoury technicians employed in the removal and making safe of unexploded bombs dropped on RAF airfields and was worn on the upper right sleeve. It was abolished in 1948 but in 1949 was authorised for wear on armlets of ordnance disposal.
