WW1 German Iron Cross 1914 Engraved Flying Corp – Rare
An original WW1 German Iron Cross 1914, with magnetic iron core and silver frame. The obverse of the decoration retains its original black matt paint finish, the imperial crown and W is crisp with beautiful patina. The reverse of the iron cross has a silver stamp 935 which is nicely engraved with ‘1914’ and ‘1918’ on each arm, with a ‘Prop Wing’ in the centre for the newly formed Imperial German Air Force, which retains a nice bright finish. The hardware includes a barrel hinge with vertical pin and ‘C’ wire catch. This rare and desirable decoration has no damage or repairs in very good condition.

An original Wurttemberg Silver Military Merit Medal (Württemberg Militärverdienstmedaille) complete with original ribbon. This medal was instituted in 1818 and was awarded for military merit. Wilhelm II became king on 6 October 1891 and the new version of the medal bearing his image was introduced on 26 June 1892. It was suppressed in 1918 when, along with all other German rulers, Wilhelm was deposed at the end of World War I. The obverse of the medal depicts head of King Wilhelm II of Württemberg facing right, circumscribed ‘WILHELM II KOENIG VON WUERTTEMBERG’, The reverse of the medal is inscribed ‘FÜR TAPFERKEIT UND TREUE’ (For bravery and loyalty) within a wreath of laurel. German Iron Cross 1st Class 1914 With Early Presentation Case
A classic WW1 German Iron Cross 1st Class 1914 with early presentation case, three-part construction with magnetic iron core, with beautiful patina. The reverse is unmarked, with a vertical pin and barrel hinge with wire catch. The presentation is early variaton the exterior is covered in black leatherette, ebossed with a silver iron cross with a push button catch. The interior of the case has a nice purple velvet base, with a cream coloured lid. The Iron Cross and presentation box has no damage or repairs in good condition.
