Bavarian Military Merit Cross 3rd Class With Swords & Presentation Case
A WW1 Bavarian military merit cross 3rd class with swords & presentation case, constructed in bronze tombak. The obverse of the medal depicts a Maltese cross with cross swords, with a the cypher of King Ludwig III in the centre, surrounded by a ring incribed “Merenti” for merit complete with original ribbon. The reverse bears the Bavarian crowned lion surrounded by a buckled belt with the date “1886”. The presentation case is covered in blue leatherette embosed with “Bayr M.V. Kr. 3.Kl.”, and the interior is linned with blue rayon and the base in blue felt. The medal and box are in worn and issued condition.

The obverse retains its original black matt paint finish, and imperial crown and W is crisp with a stunning silver frame.
