Original mid to late-war WW2 Luftwaffe Ground Assault Badge by Friedrich Linden, Lüdenscheid, die-stamped zinc construction. The obverse of the badge has a riveted eagle which is typical of the maker, with the silver wash still intact. This reverse of the badge is smooth and has no maker mark, however, this is without a doubt an FLL (Friedrich Linden, Lüdenscheid). The hardware on the back is standard for this maker and includes a sheet metal catch and hinge that have been soldered together without any modifications. This FLL Luftwaffe Ground Assault Badge is a textbook example in good condition.

The obverse depicts an oval laurel and oak leaf wreath, with a diving eagle clutching a swastika, with 100% of the gilt finish still intact. The reverse of the Fallschirmjäger Badge has a vertical pin and is clearly stamped "G.H. Osang, Dresden" on the reverse of the eagle upside down which is common with this maker. The hinge and round wire catch are both soldered, and the eagle is tighly sercure to the wreath by two visable rivets. The decoration has no damage or repair with nice patina in very good condition.

The reverse of the eagle is stamped with the classic makers mark "A" and LDO code L/64 for Assmann & Söhne, Lüdenscheid, and the wreath is marked "2" which represent the 2nd of four dies used by Assmann, and has signs of the injection mould. The reverse of the Fallschirmjäger badge has a vertical pin and is clearly stamped with the "GWL" logo for Gebrüder Wegerhoff in Lüdenscheid. The decoration has a integral hinge with a soldered catch and vertical pin, with no damage or repair with nice patina in very good condition.

The obverse of the decoration depicts a nickle silver wreath of laurel and oak leaves with a tobak superimposed diving eagle clutching a canted swastika in its talons. The reverse of the badge includes two rivets securing the eagle tightly to the wreath with the maker’s mark clearly visible “C.E. Jucker, Berlin S.W” complete with a classic barrel hinge and round wire catch. The decoration measures 42.70 mm (w) x 53.10 mm (h); weighs 40.9 grams; in extremely fine condition.
