The Kriegsmarine Machine Engine Insignia for enlisted men (Machninen Engine Laufbahnabzeichen) was issued on completion of trade entering the Kriegsmarine.
KRIEGSMARINE SPECIALIST TRADE INSIGNIA
On joining the Kriegsmarine service all personnel were assigned and trained in a specific trade. These consisted of a wide variety of specialist trades some of which were restricted to certain rank groups.
On completion of the specialist training, personnel were issued specialist trade insignia which was worn on the upper left sleeve on the uniforms.
