National Socialist German Workers Party Visor Cap Badge
The National Socialist German Workers visors cap badge is oval in shape, with woven DAF emblem of a swastika surrounded by a tooth cog, with golden oak leaves below on a black base. The badge is surrounded by a gold gilt rope like metal frame.
On the reverse this typically consists of RZM stamp logo embossed with the inscription below ‘Lieterant’ with a number below.
German trade unions were dissolved when the NSDAP came to power and absorbed into the newly created German Labor-front (Deutsche Arbeitsfront) DAF in 1936.
The aims of the DAF were to create a national community of German professional and manual labourers, and to educate them in National Socialist principles. Membership was voluntary, but most workers chose to join to take advantage of the entertainment, sport, and travel opportunities provided by the organisation.
