Royal Marines Helmet Plate Circa 1905-1953
An original Royal Marines helmet plate circa 1905-1953, die stamped in brass. The obverse of the badge depicts a globe in the centre surrounded by the motto ‘Per. Mare. Per. Ter. Ram’ (By Sea, By Land) and laurel wreath mounted on a five pointed star with anchor below, surmounted by Kings Crown with a scroll below with the inscription ‘GIBRALTER’. The reverse of the insignia complete with both lugs, and has no damage or repairs in good condition.

The obverse of the badge depicts a grenade fired proper with a globe in the centre surrounded with the motto "Per Mare Per Terram" (By Land & Sea) surrounded by a laurel wreath surmounted by a scroll with the inscription "Gibralter" and a fouled anchor at the base.
