An original British WW2 Royal Navy Officers Gilt Cap Badge by J.R. Gaunt, constructed in brass and white and felt backing. The badge depicts a silver anchor, with a wrapped cable, surrounded by gold laurel leaves surmounted with a padded King’s crown in red velvet. The reverse is unmarked in mint condition. The reverse of the backing in clearly marked by appointment J.R. Gaunt & Son Ltd, London. The backing is slighly loose otherwise in good condition.
